NEED HELP?

glb.gif

The Tortoise Trust receives requests for help from all over the world. For many years, we tried to answer each request personally. The volume of mail recently, however, is such that we can no longer continue to do this.

INSTEAD WE NOW HAVE AN ONLINE FORUM WHERE YOU CAN RECEIVE IMMEDIATE ADVICE AND HELP

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL THE TORTOISE TRUST DIRECTLY WITH GENERAL TORTOISE CARE ENQUIRIES!

These WILL NOT be answered. No exceptions.

We would like to be able to answer all these letters and questions, but we simply do not have the time, staff, or resources to do so. Our main work is related to research, rescue and wider education.

The correct and best place to ask questions on diet, housing, breeding, general care and behaviour IS VIA THE USER FORUM.

This service is not a substitution for seeking professional help from a qualified veterinarian immediately if you have a sick animal. We cannot diagnose animals - but we can provide expert help on all kinds of husbandry matters that may be related to the problems you are experiencing.

Just go to www.tortoisetrustforum.org and take a few minutes to register. Then post your question or describe your problem. We will see it very quickly and will respond as soon as possible.

Please also read the 'Articles' , 'FAQ' and 'Care Sheets' sections of this website thoroughly. In 8 out of 10 cases, the information you need is already there.

If the answer you need is not there, then you should register  to use the online support forum (this is 100% free) and post your problem there in the relevant section, for example, if you have a sick animal, post in the veterinary section. This will be seen by us and by our more experienced members and volunteers. It operates 24 hours a day.  In order to provide relevant and accurate advice, we need relevant and accurate information from you. It is no use saying “my turtle has a bad eye” or “my tortoise has stopped eating, what should I do now?” In both cases, we could not offer any useful advice at all because you have not even told us what species is involved or how you are keeping it!

Help us to help you by providing enough information when requesting help from the Tortoise Trust’s support and advice forum. Please say what the species is, include a photo if possible, and describe your housing, diet and the exact nature of the problem.

WE CANNOT HELP YOU IF YOU FAIL TO PROVIDE THE INFORMATION  ABOVE - IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU PROVIDE ENOUGH DETAIL FOR US TO EVALUATE!
