We are pleased to report that mainstream animal welfare organisations are joining our fight against the atrocious abuses inflicted on turtles by Tesco.

One thing has become very clear during this effort (in addition to the gross abuse itself) and that is what a thoroughly disreputable bunch of bare-faced liars "Sir" Terry Leah and his cronies on the Tesco board really are.
TESCO'S LIES
They tell customers that they "comply with animal welfare standards in China" when they know dammed well that there are none!
They state: "the goods that we sell must reflect our commitment to being a
responsible retailer. To the best of our knowledge, the existing science on
turtle welfare suggests that we are meeting this commitment"
A flat-out lie. They have been presented with reams of references and evidence that proves beyond doubt that these animals are suffering horribly. They know this. They have failed to provide one single piece of credible evidence that supports the statement that they provide to customers who complain. The only message consumers should take from this is the undeniable fact that Tesco will deliberately lie to you to conceal uncomfortable truths!
Tesco state: "By commissioning independent research to bring scientific expertise to
scrutinise the realities of the live turtle trade in China, we believe
that we can help to drive up animal welfare standards throughout the
supply chain".
Translation: Tesco have hired a tame Chinese-based organisation with zero experience in this field to say precisely what Tesco want them to say. China is one of the most corrupt countries on earth. This "research" is a complete nonsense. So is the claim it is "independent". We call on Tesco to allow GENUINELY INDEPENDENT international specialist researchers full access to their turtle trade operation.
They won't do that. They do not dare do that. They know what the result would be.
